The Early Bird Pre-School CIC
Offering high quality term time care and education in Letchworth, Wheathampstead and Hitchin.
Our Letchworth pre-school was our first setting and is an Ofsted Outstanding provider for children from the age of 1-5 years old. Open from 8am-3.30pm (breakfast club, morning session with optional lunch club, afternoon session, full day sessions).
Our Wheathampstead pre-school opened in December 2022 and is awaiting its first Ofsted inspection. Currently we provide care and education to children aged 1 to rising 5. Open from 8am-3.30pm (breakfast club, morning session, lunch club, afternoon session or full day).
Our Hitchin pre-school opened in September 2024 and is also waiting for its first Ofsted inspection. We are also open from 8 - 3.30. term time only and have just launched dates for our Easter and Summer holiday club (subject to minimum numbers). We also offer our Owlets session on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 3.30 - 5.00pm (subject to minimum numbers).
All pre-schools are purpose built for children and have direct access to outdoors.
We have expanded! All our sites can now accommodate children aged from 1 year in our 'Nest' room. We are taking bookings now!

My daughter has been attending Early Birds since September 2023 (she was 2, now 3 years old). She has thrived at Early Birds. We quickly increased how many sessions she attended because she was so keen to be at pre-school everyday. She has developed close relationships with all of the staff, not just her key person, and has made special bonds with the children. I have been particularly impressed with all of the ‘extra’ learning and experiences she has had, for example she has told the whole family about mindfulness, learned the PANTS rules and particularly enjoyed the visit from the Police officer. There has been numerous opportunities for us to be involved in her time at Early Birds and have felt very much a part of the experience, such as Saturday sessions, parents evenings, stay and plays, walks etc. It is helpful to have individual feedback at the end of every session and the staff always have something positive to say about my daughter and the day she has had. I feel that they really know, care about and understand my daughter and most importantly I feel they genuinely enjoy spending time with her
